Welcome To Brownsville
Brownsville is a small town that is located in the south central region of the Bluegrass state in Edmonson County. We are a short drive off Interstate I-65 or Western Kentucky Parkway. Area attractions include Nolin Lake, Corvette Plant and Museum, and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Mammoth Cave National Park. We are rich in natural beauty and outdoor activities. Brownsville is the county seat located in the valley and banks of Green River and was incorporated in 1838. Read more about our history.
Brownsville has a Mayor/Council form of government. Meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 5pm at Brownsville City Hall. Agenda deadline is Wednesday before the meeting date.
